    Install camshaft sprocket bolts.
    Make sure camshafts are aligned as shown in figure.
    Two camshaft sprockets in place on the upper timing chain; arrows mark "Knock pin" location on each sprocket showing the required orientation.

    Assemble the tensioner by rotating and pushing the ratchet up the spiral until it stops. The tensioner is now pre-set. Chain lash will automatically set the tensioner when the engine is started. Install the tensioner.

    Apply liquid gasket to thermostat housing. Bead diameter 2.0 - 3.0 mm (0.079 - 0.118 in).
    Thermostat housing mating face on the cylinder head with a continuous bead of liquid gasket applied around the perimeter. Callout: "2.0 - 3.0 mm (0.079 - 0.118 in)" indicating bead diameter. Thermostat housing visible to the right ready to mount.
