    Remove clutch and flywheel. Use Tool KV10105610 (flywheel ring-gear holder) to lock the flywheel while loosening bolts.
    Service tool KV10105610 (flywheel/ring-gear holder) engaged on the ring gear teeth to keep the flywheel from turning while loosening flywheel bolts.

    Remove rear oil seal housing. Oil seal must be replaced.
    Oil seal must be replaced when housing is removed.
    Rear-of-block view showing rear oil seal housing being detached with a screwdriver/pry bar to start removal. Hand pries the housing away from the block.

    Remove connecting rod bearing cap nuts. Remove pistons and connecting rods as assemblies.
    Cylinder block in inverted/horizontal position on the stand showing connecting-rod big-end caps. Hand using a wrench to remove the connecting rod bearing cap nuts.

    Remove piston rings.
    Hand using a piston-ring expander pliers to remove a piston ring from a piston held horizontally.
