CYLINDER BLOCK — Caution / Disassembly — Piston and Crankshaft (Steps 1-3)

When installing moving parts such as bearings and pistons, always apply new, unused engine oil on the contact surfaces.
Place disassembled parts such as bearings and bearing caps in correct order and direction.
When tightening connecting rod bolts and main bearing cap bolts, apply engine oil to threads and seating surface of nuts.

Piston and crankshaft disassembly
- 1Place engine on a work stand. Use Tools KV10115300 (engine stand bracket) and KV10106500 (engine stand adapter) on engine stand ST0501S000. Tighten attaching bolts to 25 - 34 N·m (2.5 - 3.5 kg-m, 18 - 25 ft-lb).
UEM074 - 2Drain coolant and oil.
- 3Remove timing chain. Refer to "Removal" in "TIMING CHAIN".
