FUNCTION - Clutch Control
AT-8prose procedureClutch Control
NOTE
Electrical current is supplied to the clutch via carbon brushes making contact with a slip ring attached to the clutch housing.
The clutch is applied and released by controlling the current to the coils located in the driven member. The electronic control unit (ECU) receives input signals, processes them and controls the clutch accordingly.
Clutch control also prevents "shock" (direct coupling/uncoupling) when engine braking is used in the "Ds" position.
The control circuits are self-diagnostic. Faults can be detected using CONSULT or the On-board Diagnostic (blink code) System.
