Assembly steps 29-40

    Fit the inner circlip to the shift arm.
    Hand fitting inner circlip onto shift arm inside transmission housing.

    Fit the cam plate and pin.

    Fit the outer circlip.
  4. 32
    Secure the shift arm to shift cam using a new roll pin.
    Securing the shift arm to the shift cam with a new roll pin; an inset shows a 15° angular reference for the cam/pin orientation.

    Fit the final drive assembly in to position.

    Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the needle bearing as shown.
    Do not use grease.

    If any of the following parts are replaced, adjust differential side bearing preload.
    Differential/final drive
    Differential side bearing
    Clutch housing
    Transmission housing

    Remove side bearing and shim.

    Reinstall side bearing without shim.

    Install final drive assembly.
  11. 39
    Install clutch housing on to transmission.
  12. 40
    Tighten bolts.
