ON-VEHICLE SERVICE — Control Cable Adjustment / Park-Neutral Position (PNP) Switch Adjustment / Oil Filter Replacement
AT-7121prose procedurePNP switch bolt torque: 4.5 - 5.5 N·m (0.46 - 0.56 kg-m, 40 - 48 in-lb).
Control Cable Adjustment
NOTE
Move selector lever from the "P" position to the "L" position. You should be able to feel the detents in each position. If the detents cannot be felt or if the pointer indicating the position is improperly aligned, the control cable needs adjustment.
- 1Place selector lever in "P" position.
NAT320 - 2Remove control cable pin and place manual plate in "P" position.
CAUTION
Turn wheels more than 1/4 rotations and apply the park lock.
- 3Move selector lever from "P" to "L" position again. Make sure that selector lever moves smoothly.
- 4Install control cable pin.
- 5Apply grease to contacting areas of selector lever and control cable. Install any part removed.
Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Switch Adjustment
- 1Remove control cable end from manual plate.
- 2Set manual plate in "N" position.
- 3Loosen PNP switch fixing bolts.
- 4Use a 4 mm (0.157 in) pin for this adjustment. a. Insert the pin straight into the manual plate adjustment hole. b. Rotate PNP switch until the pin can also be inserted straight into hole in PNP switch.
NAT322 - 5Tighten PNP switch bolts. Torque: 4.5 - 5.5 N·m (0.46 - 0.56 kg-m, 40 - 48 in-lb)
- 6Remove pin from adjustment hole after adjusting PNP switch.
- 7Reinstall any part removed.
- 8Adjust control cable. Refer to "Control Cable Adjustment".
- 9Check continuity of PNP switch. Refer to AT-7056.
Oil Filter Replacement
- 1The oil filter is a small full-flow cartridge type.
NAT071? - 2Removal of oil filter with Tool or suitable tool.
WARNING
Be careful not to burn yourself, as the CVT and the CVT fluid are hot.
