TROUBLE DIAGNOSES FOR NON-DETECTABLE ITEMS — Diagnostic Procedure (Fluid Temperature Sensor)

AT-7119flowchart

Procedure continues on AT-7120 with step 3 (Without CONSULT-II) and step 4 (Check DTC).

Diagnostic Procedure (CVT Fluid Temperature Sensor)

1
1. CHECK CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR WITH TERMINAL CORD ASSEMBLY — Turn ignition switch to "OFF". Disconnect terminal cord assembly connector in engine compartment. Check resistance between terminals 43 and 28 when CVT is cold. Resistance: Cold [20°C (68°F)] Approximately 2.6 - 2.8 kΩ. Reinstall any part removed.
OK (Without CONSULT-II)

Replace CVT assembly.
OK (With CONSULT-II)
2
2. CHECK INPUT SIGNAL OF CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR (With CONSULT-II) — Start engine. Select "ECU INPUT SIGNALS" in "DATA MONITOR" mode for "CVT" with CONSULT-II. Read out the value of "FLUID TEMP SE". Voltage: Cold [20°C (68°F)] → Hot [80°C (176°F)]: Approximately 2.4V → 0.8V.
NG
Check the following item: Harness for short to ground or short to power or open between TCM, ECM and terminal cord assembly (Main harness); Ground circuit for ECM. Refer to EC section ("TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR POWER SUPPLY").
Check the following item: Harness for short to ground or short to power or open between TCM, ECM and terminal cord assembly (Main harness); Ground circuit for ECM. Refer to EC section ("TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR POWER SUPPLY").
OK
3
GO TO 3 (without CONSULT-II) / GO TO 4 (after step 2 — continues on AT-7120).
