REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

MT-7prose procedure

Two transaxle variants: RS5F41A vs RS5F30A/RS5F31V. Bolt 1 length differs (60 mm vs 70 mm); bolt 3 length differs (20 mm vs 16 mm).

Removal

Remove battery negative terminal.

Remove air duct.

Disconnect clutch control cable from transaxle.

Disconnect speedometer cable from transaxle.

Disconnect back-up lamp switch, neutral switch and ground harness connectors.

Remove starter motor from transaxle. Refer to section EL.

Remove shift control rod and support rod from transaxle.

Drain gear oil from transaxle.

Remove exhaust front tube.

Draw out drive shafts from transaxle — Refer to section FA.

Support engine by placing a jack under oil pan.
Do not place jack under oil pan drain plug.

Remove rear and L.H. mounts.

Raise jack for access to lower housing bolts. Remove bolts. Lower jack.

Remove bolts securing transaxle.

Lower transaxle while supporting it with a jack.

Tighten bolts securing transaxle
