REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
MT-7prose procedureTwo transaxle variants: RS5F41A vs RS5F30A/RS5F31V. Bolt 1 length differs (60 mm vs 70 mm); bolt 3 length differs (20 mm vs 16 mm).
Removal
Transaxle removal
- 1Remove battery negative terminal.
- 2Remove air duct.
- 3Disconnect clutch control cable from transaxle.
- 4Disconnect speedometer cable from transaxle.
- 5Disconnect back-up lamp switch, neutral switch and ground harness connectors.
UMT013 - 6Remove starter motor from transaxle. Refer to section EL.
- 7Remove shift control rod and support rod from transaxle.
UMT014 - 8Drain gear oil from transaxle.
- 9Remove exhaust front tube.
- 10Draw out drive shafts from transaxle — Refer to section FA.
- 11Support engine by placing a jack under oil pan.Do not place jack under oil pan drain plug.
UMT015 - 12Remove rear and L.H. mounts.
- 13Raise jack for access to lower housing bolts. Remove bolts. Lower jack.
- 14Remove bolts securing transaxle.
- 15Lower transaxle while supporting it with a jack.
Installation
