Assembly (continued) — RS5F30A

  1. 8b-rs5f30a
    Install mainshaft and input gear as a set.
    Take care not to damage oil seal lip with splines of input shaft while shaft is being inserted into clutch housing.
    Take care not to damage oil channel when inserting mainshaft into clutch housing.
    RS5F30A — mainshaft and input gear being installed as a set into the clutch housing, with care taken to protect the oil seal.

    Install bearing retainer.
    One of these three screws is torx type and should be installed with suitable tool, as shown.
    Suitable tool being used to install the bearing retainer screws (one of the three is torx type and requires a suitable tool).

    After installing torx screw, stake it at two points.

    Install input shaft assembly and reverse idler gear.
    Take care not to damage oil seal lip with splines of input shaft while shaft is being inserted into clutch housing.
    RS5F31V — soft hammer being used to drive the input shaft assembly down onto the bearing retainer in the clutch housing.

    Install final drive assembly.
