Input Shaft Front Bearing

Input shaft front bearing

  1. 1
    Remove snap ring.
    Input shaft held in a vise/fixture with snap ring being removed from above the input shaft front bearing using pliers.

    Pull out input shaft front bearing.
    Bearing puller fitted to the input shaft and tightened to pull off the input shaft front bearing.

    Press fit new ball bearing.
    Special tool / press jig being used to press fit a new ball bearing onto the input shaft.

    Install input gear spacer on front bearing and secure it with snap ring of proper thickness that will minimize clearance of groove in input shaft.
    Allowable clearance of groove: 0 - 0.13 mm (0 - 0.0051 in)
    Snap ring being installed on input shaft above the input gear spacer; star markers indicate mating points / tap with hammer for seating.
