MA5L disassembly
- 1Before removing transaxle case, remove reverse switch, breather, speedometer sensor and plugs shown left.
NMT046 - 2Remove transaxle cover.
NMT047 - 3Drift the retaining pin out of the 5th shift fork.
NMT048 - 4Engage reverse gear and 5th gear (by pressing the 5th shift fork) to lock the mainshaft. Remove mainshaft nut using KV329I0060 or a normal socket (two versions of nuts are available). Mark the position of the synchroniser hub and sleeve. Carefully remove the synchroniser sleeve with 5th shift fork.CAUTION: Cover the sleeve with a cloth to retrieve the balls, springs and fingers.Two mainshaft-nut versions exist: production nut (one-piece) and service nut with stop washer.
NMT049 - 5Remove 5th main gear and synchronizer hub using a suitable puller.
