REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Input shaft oil seal

Input shaft rear bearing

Input shaft rear bearing removal and installation

  1. 1
    Remove welch plug from transmission case.
    Inside view of transmission case showing the welch plug to remove and the input shaft rear bearing bore beyond it.

    Remove input shaft rear bearing by tapping it from welch plug hole.
    Hammer and pin punch tapping the input shaft rear bearing out through the welch-plug hole in the transmission case.

    Install welch plug.
    Apply recommended sealant to mating surface of transmission case.
    New welch plug being installed into the transmission case after sealant has been applied to the mating surface.
