    Remove reverse fork shaft and reverse fork.

    Engage 2nd gear.

    Drift out the retaining pin of the engagement finger towards the outside of the transaxle.

    Remove the engagement shaft, seal and spring.

    Remove the interlock key.
    A hand uses a tool to extract the interlock key from its bore between the shift forks. Surrounding gears and synchronizer hubs are visible.

    Remove the input shaft, mainshaft and shift fork assembly.
    Removal of the input shaft, mainshaft and shift-fork assembly as a single unit; the shaft tops protrude upward out of the transaxle case.
