Transaxle disassembly (continued)

    Raise both input and mainshafts just enough to remove final assembly and withdraw final drive assembly.
    Mechanic raising both the input shaft and mainshaft slightly out of the case (upward arrows). The final-drive assembly remains in the case.

    Remove bolts which hold shift rod plate and detach input shaft, mainshaft, shift forks and fork rod as a unit.
    Bolts holding the shift rod plate being removed from the case; input shaft, mainshaft, shift forks and fork rod come out as a unit.

    Remove retaining pin and detach shifter.
    Retaining pin being driven out of the shifter; arrow indicates direction.

    Remove welch plug for convenience in removing retaining pin which holds select lever to select inner lever.
    Welch plug being removed from the case (driven inward or pried out) to gain access to the retaining pin that holds the select lever to the select inner lever.
