Input shaft rear bearing — replacement

    Remove the input shaft rear bearing.
    Press setup removing the input shaft rear bearing; the shaft is supported on a fixture and a ram is pressed down on top.

    Press fit new ball bearing, groove A must be positioned upwards.
    Press fitting a new ball bearing onto the input shaft using tool KV32910010. An inset labelled 'A' indicates the groove that must face upwards.

DISASSEMBLY

Mainshaft disassembly

    Remove mainshaft rear bearing.
    Press removing the mainshaft rear bearing; the mainshaft is held in a fixture similar to fig1.

    Remove washer, 4th gear and 3rd/4th synchronizer assembly.
    Do not disassemble the synchroniser to avoid ejection of the balls and springs.

    Remove snap ring.
    Snap-ring pliers (tool KV32910040) being used to remove the snap ring from the mainshaft just above the synchronizer hub.
