    Install the 5th shift fork with the 5th gear synchronizer. Position the lugs on the baulk ring so they are correctly fitted in the synchronizer.
    Top of the mainshaft protruding from the case. Stacked above it in an exploded layout: the 5th shift fork with its 5th-gear synchronizer hub/sleeve, a notched (castellated) nut, a new lock ring, and a thrust washer. The input-shaft 5th gear sits to the right.

    Install the thrust washer, a new lock ring and the notched nut.

    Immobilise the mainshaft by engaging two gears: A — select; B — engage reverse gear; C — engage 5th gear by pressing 5th shift fork.

    Tighten the mainshaft nut to the specified torque.

    Secure the nut with the lock ring.
  6. 30
    Install a new retaining pin into the 5th shift fork.
