Mainshaft disassembly (continued)

    Remove 4th main gear, 4th bushing and steel ball.
    Be careful not to lose steel ball.
    Exploded sub-assembly showing 4th main gear and 4th bushing being lifted off the mainshaft, with the steel ball seated in the shaft groove called out below.

    Remove 3rd & 4th synchronizer, 3rd main gear, 2nd & 3rd bushing, steel ball and 2nd main gear.
    Be careful not to lose steel ball.
    Special tool ST30031000 (press splitter) clamped under the 3rd & 4th synchronizer hub on the mainshaft; press drift on top removes the 3rd & 4th synchronizer, 3rd main gear, 2nd & 3rd bushing, steel ball and 2nd main gear together.

    Remove 1st & 2nd synchronizer and 1st main gear, then remove 1st gear needle bearing.
    1st & 2nd synchronizer being separated from the mainshaft along with 1st main gear and the 1st gear needle bearing.
