Final drive assembly (final steps)

  1. 5
    Install viscous coupling — RS5F31V.
    Hands using a pin punch or drift to install the viscous coupling into the differential case on the RS5F31V variant.

    Install final gear.
    Apply locking sealant to final gear fixing bolts before installing them.
    Tightening of final-gear fixing bolts on the differential case. Inset shows chamfer detail on the bolt with arrow indicating direction of insertion. Apply locking sealant to threads before installing.

    Install speedometer drive gear and stopper.
  4. 8
    Press on differential side bearings.
    Press setup with drift on top to press the differential side bearings onto the case.
