Removal — Side Air Bag Module

Remove side air bag module

  1. 1
    Remove seat back board.
    When using a clip removal tool to remove the seat back board, take care not to damage the air bag harness.

    Disconnect side air bag module connector.

    Pull up the seat back trim.

    Remove the bolts securing the inner cloth with seat back frame. Then pull up the inner cloth.
    Tightening torque: 6.1 - 7.7 N·m (0.62 - 0.79 kg-m, 53.8 - 68.6 in-lb)

    Remove the seat back trim. Refer to "Front Seat" for details.

    Remove the torx nuts coated with bonding agent from the side air bag module.
    Tightening torque: 6.1 - 7.7 N·m (0.62 - 0.79 kg-m, 53.8 - 68.6 in-lb)

    Remove side air bag connector. Side air bag module can then be removed.
