Pawl-released components are: A/T finisher (A), cluster lid C (B), cluster lid A (C, also metal-clipped), instrument upper mask (D).

REMOVAL — Instrument panel assembly

Instrument panel assembly — removal

    Remove steering wheel. (Refer to ST section.)

    Remove steering column cover and combination switch.
  3. 3
    Remove A/T finisher or shift lever boot.
    Detail A — A/T finisher / shift-lever boot removal. Two pawls latch the boot ring to the finisher; arrow shows Front direction.

    Remove center console.
  5. 5
    Remove instrument stay cover.
  6. 6
    Remove instrument lower cover.
  7. 7
    Remove cluster lid C.
    Detail B — cluster lid C removal. Pawls at the top, metal clip at the lower edge securing it to the instrument panel.

    Remove radio.

    Remove screws securing heater control unit.

    Remove cluster lid A.
    Detail C — cluster lid A (heater-control area) with pawls at top and metal clips at both lower sides.

    Remove combination meter.

    Remove instrument upper mask.
    Detail D — instrument upper mask with pawl indicated; Front direction arrow.

    Remove left and right front pillar garnish. (Refer to 'INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR'.)

    Remove instrument panel.
