Special bolts (×) must be replaced with new ones each time the module is removed.

Removal — Air Bag Module and Spiral Cable

WARNING

Do not disassemble the air bag module.

CAUTION

Before servicing SRS, turn the ignition switch off, disconnect battery ground cable and wait for at least 10 minutes.

Remove lower lid from steering wheel, and disconnect air bag module connector and Diagnosis sensor unit connector.

Remove side lids. Using the T50H torx bit, remove left and right special bolts. Air bag module can then be removed.
