Diagnostic Procedure 5 — one or more door locks will not operate (with PW)

CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE CENTRAL DOOR LOCK AT THE DRIVER SIDE BY USING EITHER THE DRIVER SIDE MAIN CONTROL SWITCH OR THE KEY-SWITCH.

Confirm that failure is not caused by:
Confirm that failure is not caused by: - Disconnected rod(s) at lock assembly and/or bell crank. - Disconnected/Loose connector at driver's side lock knob switch.

Check fusible links, 10A supply fuse and circuit breaker (refer to Schematic and Wiring Diagrams).

Identify cause of fault and/or replace 'blown' fuse or fuselink.

A — CHECK DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK GROUND CIRCUIT. 1) Turn off ignition switch. 2) Disconnect 6-pin connector (D7) from driver side switch. 3) Check continuity between terminal (3) and body ground. CONTINUITY SHOULD EXIST.

Repair harness or ensure good ground connections.

B — CHECK DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK POWER SUPPLY. 1) Connect main switch 6-pin connector. 2) Check voltage between terminal (4) and body ground.

C — CHECK CONTINUITY BETWEEN DRIVER SIDE SWITCH AND LOCK KNOB SWITCH. 1) Ensure lock knob switch is disconnected. 2) Disconnect 12-pin connector (D6) from driver side control switch. 3) Check continuity between terminal (17) of driver side control switch and terminal (1) of lock knob switch. CONTINUITY SHOULD EXIST.
