TROUBLE DIAGNOSES FOR SELF-DIAGNOSTIC ITEMS — Diagnostic Procedure 1 (Wheel sensor or rotor) (Cont'd)

BR-7035flowchart

Front and rear axle clearances differ — front has a larger window (0.5-1.3 mm) than rear (0.28-1.47 mm); but rear can be tighter or looser overall.

Diagnostic Procedure 1 (Wheel sensor or rotor) (Cont'd)

1
CHECK TYRE — Check for inflation pressure, wear and size of each tyre.
NG
Adjust tyre pressure or replace tyre(s).
OK
2
C — CHECK WHEEL BEARING. Check wheel bearing axial end play and clearance between sensor and rotor. Clearance — Front: 0.5 - 1.3 mm (0.020 - 0.051 in); Rear: 0.28 - 1.47 mm (0.011 - 0.058 in).
NG
Clean sensor fixing portion, or replace sensor.
OK
3
CHECK SENSOR ROTOR — Check sensor rotor for teeth damage.
NG
Replace sensor rotor.
OK
4
CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR — Check ABS actuator and electric unit pin terminals for damage or the connection of ABS actuator and electric unit harness connector. Reconnect ABS actuator and electric unit harness connector. Then retest.
Front
Sensor-to-rotor clearance0.5 - 1.3 mm (0.020 - 0.051 in)
Rear
Sensor-to-rotor clearance0.28 - 1.47 mm (0.011 - 0.058 in)
