TROUBLE DIAGNOSES — Trouble Diagnosis (without CONSULT)
BR-58prose procedureBlink-code entry: short SC0+SC1 of the CONSULT socket to ground for >0.5 s. Mode-entry signature is 4 flashes ×2; then the failure code is sent as 1-s on/off pulses, then the pattern repeats. Source prints '19 m/hr' — same typo as BR-54 ('mph').
Trouble Diagnosis (without CONSULT)
NOTE
To perform Trouble Diagnosis without using CONSULT, a "blink code" system has been provided. The code is accessed — via the ABS warning light — as follows:
- 1Drive the vehicle at speeds above 30 km/h (19 m/hr) for longer than one minute.
SBR530A - 2Stop the vehicle. Switch off the engine. Turn ignition switch to 'ON'.
- 3Fully depress the brake pedal ONCE ONLY and release.
- 4Short CONSULT socket pins SC0 and SC1 to ground for longer than 0.5 seconds.
- The ABS warning light will commence flashing; the number of "flashes" will correspond with a symptom in the diagnostic chart.
UBR121
NOTE
To indicate that the system is in the self-diagnostic mode, the ABS warning light will flash 4 times, twice (see illustration). The blink code will then commence.
s:
• If the brake pedal is pressed during the procedure, the warning light will stay on, and the process must be repeated.
• If the warning lamp fails to flash, refer to Diagnostic Procedures 7 (light ON) or 8 (light OFF).
