Removal (Cont'd)
- 2Remove brake shoe retainer, remove spring by rotating shoes.
UBR077 - 3Remove adjuster assembly.
UBR078 - 4Disconnect parking brake cable from operating lever.
CAUTION
Be careful not to damage parking brake cable when detaching it.
Inspection — Wheel Cylinder
NOTE
• Check wheel cylinder for leakage.
• Check for wear, damage and loose conditions. Replace if any such condition exists.

NOTE
• Contact surface should be fine finished with No. 120 to 150 emery paper.
• Using a drum lathe, machine brake drum if it shows scoring, partial wear, stepped wear or ovality.
• After brake drum has been completely reconditioned or replaced, check drum and shoes for correct contact pattern.
