TROUBLE DIAGNOSES — Diagnostic Procedure 3 — ABS Actuator Relay and Circuit (L.E.D. flashing number 9)
BR-62flowchartActuator relay socket pins are labelled by ISO automotive relay convention (30, 85, 86, 87, 87a) — pin 30 = common, 87 = NO (relay coil 85/86 energized), 87a = NC, 85/86 = coil. Continuity 14-87a + 16-87 confirms the relay socket wiring is wired through to the right terminals on the actuator connector.
Diagnostic Procedure 3
ABS ACTUATOR RELAY AND CIRCUIT (L.E.D. flashing number 9)
1
A — CHECK ABS ACTUATOR RELAY POWER SUPPLY. Remove actuator connector and check voltage between connector (vehicle side) terminal 16 and body ground. Voltage: Battery voltage.
N.G.
Check power supply circuit.
O.K.
2
Perform individual actuator relay check. Refer to "Individual Component Check".
N.G.
Replace actuator relay.
O.K.
3
B — CHECK ACTUATOR RELAY CIRCUIT. Disconnect actuator connector. Check continuity between actuator connector terminals and relay side terminals: 14-87a 0Ω; 16-87 0Ω; 12-86 0Ω; 13-85 0Ω; 11-30 0Ω.
N.G.
Replace actuator.
O.K.
4
C — CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY. Remove connector of Control Unit. Check continuity between body harness side connectors of control unit and actuator: 16-12 0Ω; 35-13 0Ω.
N.G.
Repair harness between control unit and actuator.
O.K.
5
Replace ABS control unit.
