Cup direction is orientation-critical; key plate is keyed to the cylinder via convex/concave alignment.

Assembly

  1. 1
    Install cup in the specified direction.
    Step 1: cup installed on adjusting nut in the specified direction (cup lip orientation called out by arrow on cylinder wall).

    Fit push rod into square hole in key plate. Also match convex portion of key plate with concave portion of cylinder.
    Step 2: key plate fitted into cylinder body — convex portion of key plate aligns with concave portion of cylinder; push rod's square section seats into the square hole in the key plate.

    Install seat, spring, spring cover and ring B with suitable press and drift.
    Step 3: install seat → spring → spring cover → Ring B into cylinder using a suitable press and drift tool.

    Install cup, adjuster, bearing, spacers, washers and ring A with a suitable tool.
    Step 4: install cup → adjuster → bearing → spacers → wave washer → Ring A onto piston using a suitable tool.
