Disassembly

  1. 1
    Remove piston by turning it counterclockwise with suitable long nose pliers.
    Step 1: hands using long-nose pliers rotating the piston counterclockwise to back it out of the cylinder.

    Pry off ring A from piston with suitable pliers and remove adjusting nut.
    Step 2: pliers prying off Ring A from the piston to expose the adjusting nut.

    Disassemble cylinder body.
    1. a. Pry off ring B with suitable pliers, then remove spring cover, spring and seat.
    2. b. Remove piston seal.
    Step 3a: pliers prying off Ring B from cylinder body to release spring cover, spring and seat.

    Remove return spring, stopper bolt and lever.
    Step 4: caliper in vise; wrench removing the return spring / stopper bolt / parking-brake lever assembly from the cylinder body.
