Adjustment

Check brake pedal free height from metal panel. Adjust if necessary.

C1, C2: Clearance between pedal stopper and threaded end of stop lamp switch and brake switch
0.75 - 2.00mm (0.0295 - 0.0787 in)
D: Depressed heightRefer to SDS, BR-7051
A: Pedal free play at pedal pad
1.0 - 3.0mm (0.039 - 0.118 in)

Brake Pedal Adjustment

  1. 1
    Loosen lock nut and adjust pedal free height by turning brake booster input rod. Then tighten lock nut.
    Side cross-section view of the brake pedal assembly. Shows the input rod connecting to the pedal, stop lamp switch and brake switch above with clearance dimension C1 or C2, lock nut callout with torque 16-22 N·m. Also shows dash insulator, dash reinforcement, dash floor panel, floor carpet, melt sheet, and pedal angle 90°. Dimension A marks the pedal free play at the pedal pad.

    Check pedal free play. Make sure that stop lamps go off when pedal is released.

    Check brake pedal's depressed height while engine is running. If lower than specification, check brake system for leaks, accumulation of air or any damage to components (master cylinder, wheel cylinder, etc.); then make necessary repairs.
