Assembly

Master Cylinder Assembly

  1. 1
    Insert secondary piston assembly. Then insert primary piston assembly.
    Pay attention to direction of piston cups in figure at left. Also, insert pistons squarely to avoid scratches on cylinder bore.

    Install piston stopper pin while plugger is pushed into cylinder.
  3. 3
    Apply pressure to the plunger to secure the primary piston, secondary piston, seals and piston guide-assemblies with a new circlip.

    Install master cylinder seal.
  5. 5
    Install reservoir tank oil seals.
  6. 6
    Push reservoir tank into master cylinder.

Installation

    Place master cylinder and filter bracket onto brake booster and secure mounting nuts lightly.
  2. 2
    Fit flare nuts to master cylinder.
  3. 3
    Tighten mounting nuts.
  4. 4
    Tighten flare nuts. Specification: 15 - 18 N·m (dry) (1.5 - 1.8 kg-m, 11 - 13 ft-lb)
  5. 5
    Bleed air. Refer to "Bleeding Procedure" in "AIR BLEEDING".
  6. 6
    Connect low fluid warning light harness.
  7. 7
    Refit air cleaner.
