CAUTION
Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas; it may cause paint damage. If brake fluid is splashed on painted areas, wash it away with water immediately.
All hoses must be free from excessive bending, twisting and pulling.
- 1Connect a vinyl tube to air bleeder valve.
SBR992 - 2Drain brake fluid from each air bleeder valve by depressing brake pedal.
- 3Clean joint before dismantling. Remove flare nut securing brake tube to hose, then withdraw lock spring.
UBR042 - 4Cover openings to prevent entrance of dirt whenever disconnecting hydraulic line.
Inspection
NOTE
Check brake lines (tubes and hoses) for cracks, deterioration or other damage. Replace any damaged parts.
Installation
CAUTION
Refill with new brake fluid "DOT 4".
Never reuse drained brake fluid.
- 1Tighten all flare nuts and connecting bolts.
- specSpecification: Flare nut: 15 - 18 N·m (1.5 - 1.8 kg-m, 11 - 13 ft-lb); Connecting bolt: 28.4 - 34.3 N·m (2.8 - 3.5 kg-m, 20 - 25 ft-lb) dry seat; 16.7 - 19.6 N·m (1.7 - 2.0 kg-m, 12 - 14 ft-lb) wet seat.
SBR500 - 2Refill until new brake fluid comes out of each air bleeder valve.
- 3Bleed air. Refer to "Bleeding Procedure" in "AIR BLEEDING".
