Disassembly
CAUTION
Use soft jaws when holding steering gear housing. Handle gear housing carefully. Do not grip cylinder in a vise.
Manual Steering Gear Disassembly
- 1Remove outer tie-rod.
SST601B - 2Remove dust boot.
Inspection
Thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning solvent or automatic transmission fluid "Dextron™" type, and blow dry with compressed air, if available.
