Visually inspect components for wear and damage.

Check oil pressure regulator valve sliding surface and valve spring.

Apply regulator valve with engine oil and check that it falls smoothly into the valve hole by its own weight.

Measure inner diameter D1 of regulator housing and measure outer diameter D2 of regulator valve. Specified play D1 - D2: 0.040 - 0.100 mm (0.0016 - 0.0039 in). If surfaces are damaged, or play is out of specification, replace regulator valve set or oil pump assembly.
