ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM - System Check (VJZ)
LC-5007prose procedureVJZ supplement. System uses a pressurized coolant reservoir (no traditional radiator cap); higher relief pressure than the gasoline variant.
System Check
WARNING
Never remove the reservoir cap when the engine is hot; serious burns could be caused by high pressure fluid escaping from the reservoir tank.
Wrap a thick cloth around cap and carefully loosen it a quarter turn to release built-up pressure. Then remove the cap completely.
CHECKING COOLING SYSTEM HOSES
Check hoses for improper attachment, leaks, cracks, damage, loose connections, chafing and deterioration.
CHECKING COOLANT RESERVOIR CAP
To check coolant reservoir cap, apply pressure to cap with a tester.

| Coolant reservoir cap relief pressure — Standard | 130 - 150kPa1.3 - 1.5bar1.3 - 1.5kg/cm²18.9 - 21.8psi |
| Coolant reservoir cap relief pressure — Limit | 110 - 150kPa1.1 - 1.5bar1.1 - 1.5kg/cm²16 - 21.8psi |
Coolant reservoir cap relief pressure — Standard
130 - 150kPa1.3 - 1.5bar1.3 - 1.5kg/cm²18.9 - 21.8psi
Coolant reservoir cap relief pressure — Limit

Pull the negative pressure valve to open it. Check that it closes completely when released.
CHECKING COOLING SYSTEM FOR LEAKS
To check for leakage, apply pressure to the cooling system with a tester.

CAUTION
Use of a higher pressure than the specified pressure may cause radiator damage.
